And to think Episode 4 had set us off.
Episode 5 of Wandavision saunters in, presenting our first intersection between realities. While Wanda dealt with her new 80’s sitcom, which came with some interesting new rules; SWORD were dealing with the knowledge that she is in control.
Or is she?
Exiting the Hex, and doing some cool, witchy stuff, it definitely all seems a bit…off. Vision also discovered through Norm, that “she’s doing this” but again…is “she” Wanda? AND THEN THAT ENDING? Well. The only thing we can do from here is jump into CROWDSOURCING, because yes, we need questions.
I personally think Jesse just likes getting in early for the clout, but he is a gentleman, so I will let him off.
With how meta the show is, I think we are her intended audience. No one was watching the show but us, until Darcy picked up on it, which allows me to segue into this question:

This is interesting question from Jordan, simply cause of the answer. Who’s to say Wanda knows it’s being broadcast? Like I said, it took astrophysicist Darcy Lewis to actually find the signal, so does Wanda want someone to watch it? Or does the antagonist?
For me, I personally assume it could all be accidental. If Wanda is in control, then this is a new level of power she’s never shown. And when we see features like Captain America: Civil War showing she’s still learning her powers, this could all just be an accident. But I suspect we’ll find out as we continue to hurtle toward the conclusion.
I like the way Sam words this, and I feel this is an assumption a lot of people will make;
The assumption that Pietro is real.
Pietro X was revealed to the world at the end of Episode 5, in a role reprised by Evan Peters; The same actor who played “Peter” in Fox’s X-Men Universe. But is this a real Pietro? Is this the coming of mutants to the MCU? I believe I’ve said in previous wonderings that Feige is stalling them; Trying to let the brand refresh so to speak. Especially so, when the current phase of the MCU feels very Young Avengers. So what better way to throw viewers off the scent, than with THAT reveal.
As for the father, that can be returned to continuity at any point. While we’d all love to have an X-Men film actually acknowledge that Erik is DADDY, I think we’ll be waiting a little longer for that.
I then told Sam I hated everything about this, but that I would still answer it.
We’ll see.
They’re not.
No thank you.
And thank you to Kenny for sharing my exact thoughts on all of this:

Now to finish with this delightful ditty!

I believe this is to do with a video and/or GIF which has been doing the rounds. It looks something like this:
And honestly you can see it. But do you really think that the team at Wandavision, would look back at the most recent, and one of the worst, X-Men films and think “Hey, we should reference this motion!”.
I mean maybe, cause that is kind of hilarious, but I honestly think it’s coincidental. Neat! But coincidental.
So with a tonne of new questions, and a lot of hex-related imagery in the show, who knows what Episode 6 will bring. But considering the poignancy of that number in relation to hexagons and magic, it may just be the most revelatory yet.
Episodes of Wandavision are currently streaming on Disney+, with new episodes streaming weekly on Friday nights, 9PM NZT.
