Hiding in plain sight on Commerce Street in Britomart, a popular bus shelter has returned to nature.
PlayStation New Zealand is bringing a taste of Horizon Forbidden West to the Auckland CBD. Partnering with renowned Kiwi artist FLOX, they challenged them to reimagine the concept of the games’ post-apocalyptic far future. Real plants grow lush over two major panels within, while its benches are wrapped in FLOX’s signature pattern.

FLOX says; “To bring this to life, I’ve designed a jungle-themed space that incorporates the lush greenery of real-life plants with the post-apocalyptic feel of the Forbidden West”.
It also incorporates a special way for passersby to plant a native tree.
Encouraging the regeneration of Aotearoa’s native forests, PlayStation are supporting Forest & Bird New Zealand. Committed to planting 500 trees already, the hope is fans will help to plant an additional 500. They can do this by taking a picture of Horizon Forbidden West advertising spotted anywhere in NZ, then sharing it to Instagram as a post or story while tagging @PlayStationNZ.
This commitment forms part of a wider pledge by PlayStation to support Play4Forest, a UN Environment Programme initiative. Asking fans to play their part to help protect forests, the campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of our forests for our environment and health.
