I was running a card shop last night.
Not a real mind you, but one in TCG Card Shop Simulator. I think I’d had a good day as I prepared in-game for the next. And while I was playing, I received a notification. “I don’t recall getting a trophy” I thought. It wasn’t. As I checked, it was for Santa Monica Studio’s upcoming GOD OF WAR™ LAUFEY. I had it on my wishlist you see. And yes, okay. It was just past midnight, as pre-orders went live on September 29th.
There is an argument to ‘speak with your dollar’. Pre-ordering sends one message. Confidence in a product you have yet to get your hands on. But it can also reflect the studio’s own confidence in their product. Not every game gets a pre-order after all. The PlayStation Blog was ready to go, and “to get you ready, they’re breaking down what comes with the God of War Laufey pre-order bonus and Digital Deluxe Edition.”

God of War Laufey – Pre-order bonus1

God of War Laufey – Digital Deluxe Edition

They also revealed Faye’s Serpent Bow. Because Atreus got it from his Mumma. And also his Giant genetics. But mostly from his Mumma. “An enchanted bow with the shifting form of a serpent, Faye’s new weapon in the Everywhen can go from dormant to notched at lightning speed, allowing her to weave deadly arrow strikes alongside her other attacks”. It looks very sick, especially as it rests around her forearm like a sort of gauntlet. Always ready for action.
They also announced the use of haptics for the bow. While pressing the trigger halfway readies it for quick hip-shots. Pulling the trigger fully enables precision mode. “While in this aim mode, Faye can charge up the bow and stack up to five arrows for a powerful volley – perfect for taking advantage of Phranque’s ability to launch enemies up into the sky.”
Alongside this, they also announced Scales. “The Serpent Bow can be equipped with different types of Scales that will change both the look of the weapon, as well as the type of playstyle it specializes in via a unique perk”. And it’s one of three newly revealed sets, which can be changed to enhance your playstyle through perks, stats and unique looks.
Santa Monica sign out the post with thanks.
Thank you so much for all the interest and support shown for the game since our reveal in June.”

To tide fans over until February 16, 2027, they did share another picture of the Everywhen. But personally, I think this next image is the best way to close out this article.
Boy.
