Logan unsheathes their claws as Insomniac’s Wolverine outfits the popular console.
It was so nice to have PlayStation NZ say it was “so lovely to see me last night” first of all. They put on an event for the launch of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, and it was just a great time.
While enjoying the event, Sony announced the prices and pre-orders for Marvel’s Wolverine Limited Edition PS5 Console bundle and accessories. Even while PlayStation battles with some of their fanbase, they timed this announcement perfectly. What better way to remind consumers that they still have some tricks to play thanks to the popularity of Wolverine.
The latest PlayStation blog says “Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle will be available globally and channels Logan’s unmistakable intensity through a bold yellow finish.” Bringing Wolverine’s exposed claw marks to life, the console cover lets players peek under the hood and see what’s underneath. And “the DualSense wireless controller features furious slashes inspired by his famous claws” which gives players a striking way to bring the game into the palm of their hands. It will also be available for standalone purchase globally.

We also heard from Marcus Smith, who I’ve been fortunate enough to interview for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

They also revealed “another special PS5 Pro console cover design for players looking to channel another side of Wolverine. Inspired by the adamantium bonded to Logan’s skeleton and claws, the PS5 Pro Console Covers – Marvel’s Wolverine Adamantium Limited Edition feature the same dramatic claw-slashed details with a premium metallic finish that evoke Wolverine’s raw power and let players peer into the PS5 Pro console.”

Pre-orders for Aotearoa will go live at 10AM on the 19th of August, 2026 with your favourite retailers. The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition bundle has a recommended RRP of $1199.95. The controllers have a recommended RRP of $149.95. And the console covers are set for an RRP of $129.95.
They will then release on 15 September 2026, in line with the upcoming release of Marvel’s Wolverine.
