Gran Turismo 7 has entered Spec IV.
Part 1. I’m not entirely sure what this means. But with it comes a host of new vehicles for the popular racing sim. “Spec IV adds new ways to explore the world of cars with six new vehicles, the Sportsland Sugo circuit, new events, Scapes locations, gameplay features, and more” says the PlayStation Blog. And after 30 years of the famed series, it sees its first Chinese manufacturer in Xiaomi. With the company creating a Vision car to join the line-up of vehicles you can race with.
But I’m more interested in something else. Something which can help continue to pad my Hardware category out. And that’s the upcoming limited edition DualSense controlller.
Thirty years ago, Gran Turismo began with a vision to share the beauty and joy of the automobile. This commemorative controller celebrates the journey we have shared together, and I am deeply grateful to everyone whose passion continues to inspire us.”
Kazunori Yamauchi (CEO of Polyphony Digital Inc.)
The press release says the controller is “inspired by the craftsmanship and engineering at the heart of Gran Turismo”. The “limited edition DualSense wireless controller pays tribute to 30 years of The Real Driving Simulator. Racing stripes and motorsport-inspired graphics pair with a textured, carbon-fibre-style front plate, bringing elements of automotive design and performance to the controller”. But can it emulate the burnt rubber smell the Gran Turismo 2 disc had on the PlayStation One? It may not, but it definitely embraces its heritage.
Pre-orders are available now at your favourite retailer. The Gran Turismo Limited Edition DualSense will be available in limited quantities at a RRP of NZD$149.95. It will then launch globally on December 10th.
